Shiner girls basketball: Lenehan scores 19 to lead Shiner to win at Schulenburg

Morgan Lenehan hit a pair of triples and tallied 19 points to lead the Shiner girls to a 51-14 win at Schulenburg on Friday. Shiner led 18-0 after the first quarter and posted 22-2 halftime lead.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner Comanches dominate Bulldogs 72-38

The Shiner Comanches won the inside battle with Flatonia and that helped Shiner win big 72-38 on Jan. 30. “We rebounded a lot better than our last game against them. Their bigs ate us up in the previous game,” Comanches head coach Jeff Akin said. “Tonight, our bigs won the battle.

Shiner girls basketball: District Champs: LC hold off FHS 71-65 for title

The Shiner Lady Comanches captured the district title outright after a fourth-quarter rally against Flatonia, 71-65 Jan. 30. “The only one who could catch us would be Flatonia and we beat them twice now,” Shiner head coach Kristi Peterson said.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls escape Bloomington 49-34

Addy Siegel hit three triples and scored a season-high 20 points as Shiner pulled away from Bloomington 49-34 Jan. 23 in Bloomington for the season sweep. Morgan Lenehan also scored in double digits with 14 points and completed her double double with 16 rebounds.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards go 1-3 in four games in five days

The St. Paul boys basketball team had a very busy week with three scheduled games and one rescheduled game from the previous week. St. Paul hosted Cedar Park Summit on Jan. 22, traveled to Austin San Juan Diego then hosted Pflugerville Concordia on Thursday after the game on Jan.

Usually when a team does not play a game for two weeks, there is reason for a little concern. Not so for the St. Paul Lady Cardinals who routed Pflugerville Concordia (also the Lady Cardinals) 67-18 Thursday night at St. Paul. St.

Shiner boys basketball: Comanches deliver BHS’s first district loss

The Shiner Comanches ended Bloomington’s undefeated run in district with a 45-44 win in overtime after trailing by several points late in the fourth quarter. Shiner was down 39-32 with a minute left in the game.
