Shiner basketball: Comanches fall to Bloomington after ‘Cats rally

After trailing for part of the second half, Shiner went on a good run to take a 40-38 lead in the fourth quarter against Bloomington. The Wildcats had other ideas as they went on a 17-2 run to deal the Comanches a 55-42 defeat in the district opener Friday in Shiner.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards win district opener against CPS

A 17-3 run in the third quarter by the St. Paul boys basketball team was instrumental in helping them down Cedar Park Summit Christian Academy 44-7 on the road Dec. 8 in the district opener. Jackson Seibert had double-digit scoring with 10 points and Zane Barta dropped down nine points. St.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner 80, PL 32

Carson Schuette hit three treys and swished 25 points to lead Shiner to an 80-32 rout of Prairie Lea Dec. 12 in Luling. Bode Werner sank 11 points, and Cauy Herman dropped down two triples and tallied 10 points. Jimmy S. scored 13 to lead the Indians.

St. Paul boys basketball: Cards get fourth at PL

PRAIRIE LEA — The St. Paul boys team won two of three and finished fourth overall  last week at the Prairie Lea Tournament. St. Paul 49, PL 10 With a 30-8 second-half run, St. Paul defeated the host Indians 49-10 in their only tournament game on Thursday.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls handle BHS aggressive play in win

The Shiner girls basketball team were expecting Bloomington to come out and play aggressive. And the Lady Wildcats met that expectation but Shiner was ready and handed Bloomington a 71-37 rout to improve to 2-0 in district.

St. Paul girls basketball: Champions of Prairie Lea SP go 3-0 to win crown

PRAIRIE LEA —  The St. Paul Lady Cardinals went 3-0 and won the Prairie Lea Girls Tournament last Thursday through Saturday. Lady Cardinals Brooke Cerny, Maurin Knesek and Skylar Mozisek received All-Tournament. SP 49, Vict.
The Shiner Sweet Digs 13U competed in the December Dash Tournament Saturday in Buda. St. Paul boys basketball: Cardinals get win in opener

St. Paul scored two dozen points and yielded one point in the first quarter of their 2023-24 opener against Faith Lutheran at home Nov. 28 for a 53-28 win. Faith Lutheran outscored St. Paul 7-6 in the second box for a St. Paul 30-8 halftime lead.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches earn Bronze at Goliad Tournament

The Shiner Lady Comanches basketball team went 4-1 in the Goliad Tournament to place third overall.  Morgan Lenehan and Callie Sevcik were chosen for the All-Tournament team.
