Local cross-country: Lady Cards, Lady Comanches first, second at Shiner Meet No. 2

St. Paul and Shiner cross-country teams were at home Saturday in the second Shiner meet. The Lady Cardinals won the varsity girls 1A-2A race and Shiner was runner up. The Cardinals were second in the 1A-2A boys. St. Paul Varsity Girls St.

Shiner volleyball: Weimar defeats Shiner in close four sets

Shiner and Weimar’s volleyball teams did not have a lot separating the two. It would come down to whoever made the fewest errors. Weimar had fewer mistakes and came away with a 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19 win over the Lady Comanches Sept. 26 in Shiner.

St. Paul football: Late special teams, defensive plays gets St. Paul 28-27 victory

St. Paul and Austin Brentwood pretty much traded blows with no one able to take a significant lead. St. Paul made some pretty significant special teams and defensive plays later in the game.

Local cross country: Lady Cards, Lady Comanches finish fourth, fifth at Gonzales meet

The St. Paul and Shiner cross-country teams gathered in Gonzales to compete in the Gonzales Invitational on Saturday. St. Paul Varsity Girls The Lady Cardinals scored 95 points for a fourth-place finish in the girls varsity race. Kristin Cerny led St. Paul with fourth place in 12 minutes, 54.

Shiner volleyball: LC win first home district match

The Shiner volleyball team made very quick work of Ganado in the first set. The Lady Comanches did have a little more work to do in the second and third sets as Ganado took some momentum, just not enough as Shiner rolled to a 25-5, 25-14, 25-12 sweep on Friday in a district home match.
