LCSO warns residents of scammers

A reoccurring fraud scheme has once again rose up and is targeting Lavaca County residents.The Lavaca County Sheriff ’s Office is warning citizens of scammers which will advise them that they have a warrant for their arrest.

Police are warning residents about a widespread scam involving fraudulent text messages and emails claiming to be from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Booby trapped safe found at Wendel’s Jewelry

A booby trap was discovered in a safe at Wendel’s Jewelry last Tuesday.Store owner Tim Michalec contacted Keith Jackson of Jackson Lock and Key Locksmith and asked him to open an old metal safe at the shop.
