Beryl passes by with gusty winds, very little rain

Last week leading into the July 4 holiday weekend, all eyes were on a storm entering the Gulf of Mexico named Hurricane Beryl.Beryl first formed as a tropical storm on June 28 and rapidly developed into the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season only one day later.

Acting Governor Dan Patrick today urged Texans to make final preparations and announced that he has added 81 counties to the state’s Hurricane Beryl Disaster Declaration as storm forecasts have shifted the expected landfall north and east of previous projections.
