Moravia picnic on tap for July 19

The annual Moravia Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church picnic is set for Sunday, July 19 with all activities to be held on the parish picnic grounds in Moravia.The picnic will start with a celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the serving of the picnic dinner beginning at 11 a.m.

The historic Moravia Store was featured recently in the Texas Country Reporter.They described the bar as one of the “best hidden Dive Bars around Texas that you have never heard of.” The bar is a historic bar known for its friendly atmosphere.

Stribrnanka Brass Band here May 24

The Stribrnanka Brass Band from the south Moravia region in the Czech Republic will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville Wednesday, May 24. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with an admission charge of $5 per person. The band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

Majek Vineyard & Winery in Moravia hosted a crowd last weekend that you might not expect to come across in Lavaca County, especially not in a tiny place like Moravia. “We had the most amazing group of people down yesterday,” winery owner Randy Majek shared on Saturday.
