Local artist Bob Barrera introduced a splash of color to downtown Hallettsville with a mural dedicated to the Houston Astros and their latest World Series Championship on the wall of his soon-to-be studio last week.

The advantages of a License to Carry

Last year, The Firearms Act of 2021 provided the right to carry firearms for most Texans over 21. New Texas Gun Permit applications fell drastically from nearly 39 thousand in June 2020 to just over five thousand in 2021, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Schroeder achieves 40 years of judicial service

Judge Gary J. Schroeder (Shiner High School Class of 1971) achieved a recognition that most Judges never do, serving actively for over 40 years as a Municipal Judge. He has worked for the Municipal Court for the City of Shiner for over 25 years and continues to serve as its Prosecutor.

Shiner ISD celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Monday, October 24, Shiner ISD kicked off Red Ribbon Week. Students were educated about making healthy choices and safety while showing off their spirit in the process.

Shiner FFA fruit sale orders due November 10

The Shiner FFA fruit, meat, and dessert sale is underway. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it’s set for a “Christmas” delivery so sometime around the first week of December it will be delivered to campus and the students will distribute to customers.

Moeller, Pilat named SPH Band Sweetheart, Band Beau

The St. Paul Cardinal band recently celebrated the two students who were selected as Band Beau and Band Sweetheart for 2022.  Emily Moeller and Charlie Pilat, both juniors, were named Beau and Sweetheart at the Parent’s Night football game. Congratulations to these students on this honor!
