Lady Bulldogs, Bulldogs win post-season awards

A group of Yoakum softball and baseball athletes received various post-season awards.
Softball
All-State
Outfielder Macie Blakeney and utility player Julia Fojt received Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Honorable Mention.
VA All-Area
Pitcher Madelynne Steinman (15-3, 2.45 ERA, .442 batting, 33 RBI) and  outfielder Blakeney (.433 batting, 24 RBI, 23 stolen bases) made the Victoria Advocate All-Area FIrst Team. Fojt and Kylie Velek received Honorable Mention.
Baseball
All-State
Pitcher Connor Zaruba (9-0, 1.06 ERA, 119 strikeouts, 59,1 innings pitched) made the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) 3A All-State Elit Team.
First Baseman Brayden Goode (.484 batting, seven doubles, two triples, one home run, 31 RBI) made the First Team.
VA All-Area
Zaruba was chosen as Pitcher of the Year; Goode, pitcher/reliever Slayde Rice and outfielder Tre Robbins all were chosen for the First Team.
