Cross country: Shiner, St. Paul run in Yoakum

The Shiner and St. Paul cross-country teams started the season Saturday in Yoakum with the each school’s girls varsity teams placing top five.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Comanches scored 100 points to finish fourth place in the team standings
Brinley Ramirez was No. 11 in 10 minutes, 13 seconds to lead Shiner. Erin Pustka was No. 19 in 10:35; Hayleigh Burns was No. 23 in 10:44. Callie Chrismon was No. 30 in 11:00 and following was Amelia Pohler in 11:02. Molly Kollaus was No. 47 in 11:33.60; Eve Roberts was clocked at 12:06 for No. 64
Varsity Boys
The Comanches got No. 10 with 229 points.
Boe Boehm led the team with No. 32 in 15:01.85 and behind him was Shawn Liska-Haas in 15:02.42.
Kade Matula was No. 69 in 18:12.26; Gavyn Gipson won No. 71 in 18:16.11; Wyatt Machart finished in 18:31.23 for No. 73.
St. Paul
Varsity Girls

The Lady Cardinals recorded 128 points for fifth place.
Brooke Cerny led the Lady Cardinals with 9:42 for fourth place. Eden Rodriguez was No. 20 with 10:35.3; Kristin Cerny was No. 28 in 10:53; Anna Reeves crossed the line in 11:57 for No. 60.
Varsity Boys
Trent Brown was No. 35 in 15:03.76; Jacob Twyford was No. 56 in 16:22.32; Hunter Zella was No. 81 in 19:52.73 and Jacob Seibert was No. 83 with a time of 20:09.79.
JH Girls
St. Ludmila placed second with 34 points.
Skylar Mozisek took first with 10:15; Faith Brown was No. 11 in 11:36.5
Emori Rodriguez was No. 17 in 12:02; Franes Filip was No. 22 in 12:52; Emma Marshall was No. 26 in 13:08 followed by Ashlyn DeSarro in 13:16; Arley Applegate finished in 13:58 for No. 29.
Evangeline Chilek was No. 31 in 14:30 and behind her was Hannah Machacek in 14:36.
JH Boys
The boys took fifth with 92 points.
Gabe Darilek was third with 9:11; Matthew Mozisek was No. 22 in 11:02; Carter Chilek was No. 27 with 11:23; Wesley Miller was No. 35 in 13:36 and followed by Elijah Rodriguez with 13:41.
