Shiner FFA asking for public's help

A Letter to the Editor

Dear FFA Students, Parents and Supporters,

Welcome back to school! We have so much to offer to every student here at Shiner FFA and encourage students to get involved. FFA not only teaches students about agriculture but also creates leadership skills, time management, life skills and creates lifelong friendships.

FFA continues to help the next generation to rise up and be the best person possible. So, you may think that today you’re just a Future Farmer of America, but soon you will become future scientists, veterinarians, engineers, teachers and entrepreneurs.

A little about me: I am 16-years-old and a junior at Shiner High School. I play volleyball and golf, and I love hunting and fishing. Along with being a leader in FFA, I’m also in the National Honor Society, a member of the Student Council, president of Anna’s Angels and helped create an organization called Comanche Closet. I was First Vice President of Shiner FFA last year, and I’m proud to serve as your president for the 2022-23m school year.

Some exciting events we have planned this year include our famous fruit sale for December delivery, the crawfish boil in the spring and our stock show March 3, 2023. We’ll be competing in Leadership Development Events in a few weeks. We are welcoming sponsorships so we can travel to competitions around our district, area and state.

If you are interested in being a sponsor, please email your name or business logo to our Agriscience Teacher and FFA Advisor, Ms. Amberly Moye, at moyea@shinerisd.net, so we can display your generosity on a banner at our annual stock show. We’ll be happy to send out one of our officers to come pick up your donation.

We can’t wait to have a successful year and grow young leaders here at Shiner FFA. See you all soon!

Best Regards,

Chelsea Whiddon, Shiner FFA President

Shiner High School Class of 2024
