Yoakum football: Cuero bests 'Dogs 75-6

The Cuero Gobblers made the short drive to Yoakum this past Friday night to play the 114th edition of the "DeWitt County Showdown." They were victorious coming away with a 75-6 win to improve to 3-0 on the season. Yoakum is now 0-3.
Offensively the Bulldogs were led by Zerion Cuellar who had 14 carries for 37 yards on the ground. The ‘Dogs totaled 87 yards on the ground on 35 carries.
Quarterback Ty Gordon had one touchdown pass of 26 yards to Kadarius Price late in the game to avoid the shut out.
Defensively the Dogs had three players who had seven tackles which were TyJuan Garza, Will Robbins, and Tim Donihoo.
Trey Cuellar had six tackles; Price added four tackles; Deel had four tackles; Barnett, Polk and Zerion Cuellar had three tackles each; Bergman chipped in two tackles.
The Bulldogs travel this week to Port Lavaca to take on Port Lavaca Calhoun. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
