MPD’s welfare concern issued on missing woman rescinded Thursday
Moulton Police Department’s published welfare concern for a local woman issued earlier this week after family members reached out to local law enforcement expressing concerns for her wellbeing, having not seen or heard from her in a couple of weeks, was rescinded early Thursday afternoon.
But it was not a joyful occasion for the family of Jessica Glass Ford, as officers located her during a search of her Moulton apartment mid-morning Thursday.
She apparently passed away inside her home within the last day or so, Interim Police Chief Daniel Beyer shared with The Moulton Eagle on Thursday from the parking lot of her apartment complex.
“There were no apparent signs of foul play,” Beyer said. “Still, out of an abundance of caution, we requested assistance from the Texas Rangers in conducting our investigation.”
Police began clearing the scene within minutes of Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Travis Hill’s arrival just before 2 p.m. He began the inquest which is formally completed by an autopsy at the medical examiner’s office to determine cause of death and eliminate any suspicions.
Having both shared the initial welfare concern via our social media newspaper pages and added that welfare concern to our newspaper website at www.lavacacountytoday.com, the newspaper is obliged to report the case’s resolution.
We wish to extend our condolences Jessica’s family and friends during this difficult time. We pray you find God’s peace and comfort as you bereave your loved one.
