“Gonzales has some good players, they have a new coach and are still learning his system,” Yoakum head coach Bo Robinson said. “They are improving.”
Gonzales runs the spread and has lot of solid skilled positions to go along with a big offensive line.
“We will have to defend all of their skilled players well,” Robinson said.
Quarterback Jarren Johnson has completed 38-of-71 passes for 504 yards and four touchdowns to four interceptions.
Davante Smith is Johnson’s top target with 216 yards on 11 catches and two touchdowns.

“Our offense just needs to improve at what we do. Our offensive line is improving. Quarterback Ty Gordon has been playing well. Kadarius Price had three touchdown receptions over the last two games and we need him to keep that up,” Robinson said.
Key players Jayden Jones and Qyion Williams returned from injury to take part in the defensive effort last week and could also contribute a lot on offense this week.
Notes — Robinson is one win away from his 200th win as head coach.
