The following Halloween-themed events feature free attractions for attendees. All listed events are hosted on Halloween or the prior weekend. For further event details, visit the organizations’ social media pages or websites. Happy Halloween!
Friday, Oct. 28:
Halloween Spooktacular
6 p.m. - Carl and Mary Welhausen Library, Yoakum
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for an evening featuring trunk-or-treating, costume contests, a movie on the lawn and other spooky attractions.
Saturday, Oct. 29:
Yoakum Rodeo Arena Benefit
9 a.m. - Yoakum Rodeo Arena, Yoakum
In addition to pay-to-enter rodeo events, this benefit fundraiser features a costume contest, a foot race and other complimentary attractions.
Halloween on the Square
3 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Hallet Oak Art Gallery, Hallettsville
Treats and Halloween spirit will be shared outside the Hallet Oak Art Gallery in the Hallettsville square.
Moulton Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Pumpkin Trail and Trunk-or-Treat
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Downtown Moulton
Venture to the plaza in downtown Moulton with a trunk full of sweets for the town’s annual trunk-or-treat event. The best-decorated trunk wins a prize and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to L.A.M.B. charities.

3rd Annual Trunk-or-Treat
5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Lavaca County Courthouse, Hallettsville
Local businesses and organizations will hand out candy on all four sides of the Hallettsville square.
Trick or Treat at the Library
5 p.m. - 8 p.m. - Friench Simpson Memorial Library, Hallettsville
Join hundreds of trick-or-treaters in celebrating Halloween inside the Hallettsville public library.
Trick-or-Treat at the Pumpkin Patch
5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - First United Methodist Church
Fill up on candy at the First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville.
St. Peter Lutheran Church Trunk-or-Treat
5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hallettsville
Community members are welcome to collect sweets at the St. Peter Lutheran Church’s 2nd Ave. Parking Lot.
Shiner FUMC Trunk-or-Treat
5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Shiner First United Methodist Church, Shiner
Prepare a costume and candy basket for this trunk-or-treating event in Shiner.
Yoakum Downtown Pumpkin Patch
5:30 - 6:30 - Downtown Yoakum
Trick-or-treaters can meander through historic downtown Yoakum with stops at several local businesses for candy.
