St. Paul boys basketball: Cardinals go 1-1 in first two games
The Cardinals boys basketball team split their opening games last week.
St. Paul 50, Cedar Park Summit 11
Joseph Twyford scored 13 points as the St. Paul Cardinals opened the season with a 50-11 win over Cedar Park Summit on Dec. 6. It was also St. Paul’s district opener.
The Cardinals raced out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 30-4 halftime advantage.
St. Paul went on a 17-3 run in the third quarter and Summit outscored the Cardinals 4-3 in the fourth frame.

Austin San Juan Diego 40, St. Paul 33
A 21-17 run by St. Paul in the second half was not enough to overcome its halftime deficit in a 40-33 loss at Austin San Juan Diego on Friday.
Charlie Pilat sank 10 points to lead the Cardinals and Kai El Gentles led ASJD with 28 points and four triples.
ASJD led 18-11 after the action in the first frame and St. Paul managed just one point in the second as ASJD scored five points.
