St. Paul boys basketball: Cards play three at Prairie Lea Tournament

The St. Paul Cardinals played three games in the Prairie Lea Tournament last weekend going 0-for-3.
San Marcos Academy 45, St. Paul 38
Trent Brown converted four three-point shots and scored 14 points as St. Paul took a 45-38 loss to San Marcos Academy.
The game was tied at 11-11 after the first quarter and a  14-8 run by SMA gave them a 25-19 lead at halftime.
The Bears slightly outscored St. Paul 11-8 in the third quarter. St. Paul rebounded with 11 of 20 points in the final eight minutes.

Seguin Lifegate 45, St. Paul 43
Brown sank 14 points and Fisher Davis contributed 12 points as St. Paul came up painfully close to beating Seguin Lifegate but fell 45-43.
Lifegate led just 8-6 after the first frame and went on a 12-7 second-quarter run to take a 20-13 lead at the break.
St. Paul got within one with a 16-10 run in the third quarter and Lifegate outscored the Cardinals 15-14 in the fourth quarter.

Prairie Lea 37, St. Paul 32
Joseph Twyford sank nine points and Davis has eight points in St. Paul’s 37-32 loss to the hosts Arrows.
St. Paul took an 8-7 lead after one quarter and they switched placed as Prairie Lea went on an 11-8 run for an 18-16 lead.
St. Paul took the lead back with a 7-4 run in the third frame; Prairie Lea took control back with 15 of 24 points in the fourth frame.
