St. Paul boys basketball: Cardinals beat Waldorf

Trent Brown descended in 21 points, Joseph Twyford netted a dozen points and Fisher Davis chipped in 10 points in St. Paul’s 62-35 district win over Austin Waldorf Jan. 10 at home.
The Cardinals took a 23-9 lead at the end of the third quarter and outscored Waldorf 16-5 in the second period.
St. Paul went on a 15-9 tear in the third stanza and then scored 18 of 30 points in fourth-quarter action.

Twyford dropped in 20 points and Brown sank 12 points with both players hitting two triples in St. Paul’s 58-43 loss at Pflugerville Concordia on Friday.
Concordia led 20-6 after one quarter and 34-19 at halftime. The Cardinals got within 40-30 at the end of the third frame and Concordia padded their margin with 18 of 31 points in the fourth quarter.

St. Paul held 24-23 halftime lead Saturday at home against Sacred Heart and the Indians rallied in the second half for a 57-44.
Sacred Heart led 12-11 in the first quarter and St. Paul went on a 13-11 run in the second quarter.
Sacred Heart scored 10 of 17 points in the third quarter and breathed a sigh of relief after a 24-13 run in the final period.
Brown scored 13 points with two triples; Twyford added two triples and a dozen points with Jacob Wachsmuth hit a tres and scored 11 points.
