Yoakum girls basketball: Lady Bulldogs snare Lady Cobras 51-44

Jayana Phillips sank two dozen points and Destiny Rios dropped in 13 points to lead  the Lady Bulldogs to a 51-44 district win at Industrial on Friday.
Yoakum took a narrow 12-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and Industrial went on a 11-7 run in the second quarter to lead 21-19 at halftime.
Yoakum hopped back into the driver’s seat with a 19-9 run in the third box and it was enough to allow them to endure a 14-13 run by the Lady Cobras in the fourth quarter.
