Yoakum baseball:Bulldogs win one, lose one during spring-break schedule

The Yoakum baseball team went 1-1 during spring break with both games having a final margin of one run.
Hallettsville 5, Yoakum 4
The Bulldogs took rival Hallettsville to extra innings before the Brahmas scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the eighth. Yoakum had led 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh before Hallettsville rallied.
The Brahmas took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and were ahead 2-0 at the completion of the fifth after plating one run in that inning. Yoakum scored four runs to go ahead 4-2 in the top of the sixth and the Brahmas closed down to 4-3 in the bottom of the inning. Hallettsville got the tying run in the seventh to extend the game.
Trae Cuellar and Qyion Williams each got two hits.
Garrett Green started on the mound and went five innings; Wyatt Hanzelka worked two innings and Brenton Jacob pitched 1/3 innings.
Williams and Sutton Pavliska each had five putouts.

The ‘Dogs found themselves down 3-2 to enter the bottom of the sixth but scored two runs for an eventual 4-3 win over the Cobras March 15 in Yoakum.
Yoakum took the first lead, 1-0, in the fifth inning and Industrial scored three in the top of the sixth before Yoakum scored a single run in the bottom of the inning.
Hanzelka earned the win despite allowing 11 hits, had one walk and two strikeouts.
Cuellar was the top batter with three hits, double, run and RBI; Corey Gomez had two hits. In the field, Pavliska had seven putouts with Gomez and Williams getting four each.
