Yoakum baseball: Bulldogs nine played three games last week

Last week was busy for Yoakum as they played three games and lost three games.
Hallettsville 9, Yoakum 3
The Brahmas scored two runs in the top of the first and never looked back as they dealt Yoakum a 9-3 loss April 10 in Yoakum.
Hallettsville went ahead 4-0 in the top of the fourth and Yoakum scored a single run in the bottom of the frame. The Brahmas outscored Yoakum 3-2 in the fourth and 2-0 in the fifth square.
Trae Cuellar and Jayden Jones each got two hits while Will Robbins got a double.
Wyatt Hanzelka started on the mound and went four innings, yielding seven runs on 11 hits and one strikeout. In relief, Brenton Jacob worked one inning, one hit, one walk and two strikeouts; Trey Olivares tossed for one inning, two runs on two hits and one strikeout; Garrett Green pitched one inning with one hit. Sutton Pavliska and Green had four putouts each on defense.

The ‘Dogs rallied from a 5-0 deficit late in the road game against Industrial to lead 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh only to see the Cobras tie the game in the bottom of the seventh and scored the walk off in the bottom of the eighth.
Robbins was Yoakum’s top hitter with three hits and two runs while Pavliska had two hits.
Robbins pitched six innings, 11 runs, five hits, three walks; Jacob pitched 1 1/3 innings with two runs on one hit, three walks and two strikeouts. Leading the fielding effort was Pavliska with six putouts and two assists.

Yoakum was limited to three hits and no runs in an 11-0 loss against Columbus at home.
The Cards led just 1-0 after the first frame and scored five runs in the third before plating three in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Ty Gordon, Ethan Franklin and Pavliska had one hit. Gordon, Trey Olivares, Andrew Lara and Jacob all pitched in the game. Trae Cuellar, Green, Corey Gomez and Pavliska all had two putouts in the field.
