St. Paul golf: Lady Cards win state golf championship
The St. Paul Lady Cardinals golf team claimed the TAPPS 2A state championship April 24 at the Cottonwood Golf Course in Waco.
St. Paul shot 421-395-816 as a team. Cortney Tuch went 99-96-195 to lead the Lady Cardinals and tie for sixth overall. Anna Reeves carded 109-98-207 for ninth place. Riley Mozisek scored 103-92-195 to also tie Tuch for sixth place.
Audrey Thibodeaux shot 110-109-219 for No. 13 and Emily Stamport carded 114-113-227 for No. 13
Regionals
St. Paul scored 433 to come in second at regionals in Briarcrest GC April 17 in Bryan.
Tuch placed fourth with 100; Reeves carded a 108 for seventh; Mozisek booked a 110 for eighth; Stamport had a 115 for No. 12 and Thibodeaux shot a 120 for No. 20.
Individually for St. Paul, Mary Sue Filip had a 119 for No. 17; Camie Robles had a 124 for No. 26; Alexa Escrobar carded a 130 for No. 32 and Erica Hunke had a 135 for No. 135.
Boys
State
The Cardinals came in sixth at state with 384-365-749.
Trent Brown went 89-93-182 for No. 15; Nathan Timmons carded 98-91-189 for No. 33; Vance Lucas carded a 98-92-190 for No. 35; Jackson Seibert placed No. 40 with 99-99-198 and Carson McNabb scored 104-101-205 for No. 44
Regionals
The Cards placed second with 377. Brown carded an 80 for second place; Lucas had a 96 for No. 13; McNabb placed No. 18 with 100; Seibert scored a 101 for No. 19; Timmons had a 102 for No. 20. Individually, Tate Anders had carded a 113 ,Joseph Davis had a 115 and Gus Collins had a 125.
