Yoakum track and field: Phillips wins place on Super Elite Track Team

Yoakum track athlete Jayana Phillips won a spot on the Texas High School Coach’s Association (THSCA) Girls Track Super Elite 3A Team for her recently completed sophomore season.
Phillips competed in the state meet in the triple jump and 400-meter dash. She got runner up in the triple jump with 38 feet, 9 inches and had other jumps of 38-3 3/4, 37-9 1/2, 38-6 1/4, 37-10 1/4 and 37-8 3/4.
Phillips finished the 400 in 59.17 seconds to come in sixth place.
