Shiner volleyball:Lady Comanches beat N-S, fall in five to Stockdale
The Lady Comanches won one and lost one in two non-district road matches last week.
Shiner 3, Nixon-Smiley 0
Rylee Vancura scored 10 kills and Aimee Mitchon posted seven kills in Shiner’s 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-19) win against Nixon-Smiley on Sept. 5.
Brooke Palmer had one block; Callie Sevcik recorded four digs, two kills, one assist, one block; Charlotte Grosenbacher added five digs; Chelsea Whiddon booked 10 digs, four kills, one ace; JaMya Wright converted two kills; Kylynn Ramirez had four digs; Meghan Blaschke totaled 16 assists, four digs, two aces, one kill; Morgan Lenehan had five kills, three blocks; Erin Hajek had four assists, two digs, one ace; Vancura and Mitchon also had five digs and one ace each.
Stockdale 3, Shiner 2
The Lady Comanches rallied from losses in the first two sets to force the fifth set at Stockdale on Friday but the Lady Brahmas came up with the win 25-18, 25-14, 24-26, 20-25, 16-14.
Vancura had another big kill game with 28 kills, and had 13 assists and four digs. Mitchon had double-digit kills with 17 with six digs and five blocks.
Sevcik had 12 digs, one assist.
Grosenbacher had six digs.
Whiddon contributed 12 digs, four kills, one block; Chesney Machacek totaled four kills, one dig.
Wright had four kills, two digs; Ramirez produced eight digs, one ace, one assist.
Blaschke added 26 assists, six digs, three aces, two kills.
Lenehan had four blocks, two kills, one dig.
Hajek finished with 12 assists, two digs, two aces.
