St. Paull girls basketball: Lady Cardinals JV win second place in Gold Bracket at Schulenburg Tournament
The St. Paul Lady Cardinals junior varsity went 4-1 and took second in the Gold Bracket in the Schulenburg Tournament last week.
St. Paul 26, Lexington 5
Skylar Mozisek and Sloane Kocian each had 10 points as St. Paul defeated Lexington 26-5 on Thursday.
St. Paul led 8-3 after one quarter and was ahead 12-3 at halftime.
The Lady Cards outsored Lexington 8-2 in the third and 6-0 in the fourth period.

St. Paul 28, LG 12
Kocian sank 18 points in St. Paul’s 28-12 win over La Grange. The Lady Cards led 12-4 after one frame and outscored La Grange 6-0 in the second box.
St. Paul went on a 6-2 run in the third quarter and the Lady Leopards scored six of 10 points in the fourth frame.

A 16-0 run in the third box helped the Lady Cards solidify a 32-8 win over Shiner.
St. Paul led 10-2 after one period and Shiner went on a 6-2 run in the second.
With a 28-8 lead entering the fourth box, St. Paul outscored Shiner 4-0.
Kocian led St. Paul with 14 points and Mozisek recorded 12 points.

Gold Bracket
SP 23, Schulenburg 14
St. Paul endured a 12-11 run by the hosts during the second half in the Gold semifinal to take a 23-14 win.
St. Paul led 4-0 after one quarter and outscored the Lady Shorthorns 8-2 in the second.
Schulenburg outscored St. Paul 6-5 in the third and the teams shared 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Kocian led the Lady Cards with seven points.

VE 19, St. Paul 17
The Lady Cardinals, down by 18-11 to start the fourth quarter, outscored Victoria East 6-1 but still came up short in the Gold championship game 19-17.
The teams were even 6-6 after one quarter and East took a 12-8 halftime lead before extending their advantage to seven at the end of the third period.
Kocian and Addy Matias each scored five points to lead St. Paul.
