YHM showcases newly renovated Train Room, features train history of Yoakum

As a historic museum, the Yoakum Heritage Museum (YHM) has undergone train renovation to adapt a more accurate snapshot of Yoakum's train history.

A new train track and a fully renovated engine have been added to the train room landscape. In addition to the Passenger Depot, a five-stall Round House has been constructed along with a complete turn-about to replicate Yoakum's train history of the late 1800s.

The famous Railroad Park has been added in correct proportion with the "O" Scale Wabash Train. Train tapestries have been added to the train room walls to evoke such history.

Various historic photography supports the recent renovation of the train table as well as a complete running train demonstrating a deep history of Yoakum's train industry. Yoakum was instrumental in the beginnings of train travel in Texas both North-South as well as East-West.
