St. Paul boys basketball: Cards beat San Marcos Hill Country
The St. Paul boys basketball won a non-district game Thursday at San Marcos Hill Country Christian and lost in district Saturday at Bulverde Bracken Christian.

The Warriors used a 27-16 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from St. Paul 65-42.
Bracken led 13-6 at the end of the first quarter but only increased the lead by one with a 12-11 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
The Warriors outscored St. Paul 13-9 in the third stanza.
Jack Ehrig was the top Cardinal scorer with 14 points and a triple while Zeke Rodriguez reached double-digit scoring with 12 points.
Hunter Cox hit seven triples and scored 32 points to lead Bracken.

Andrew Nunez scored 18 points, Gabe Darilek sank 14 points, Ehrig tallied another 12 points and Rodriguez sank 11 points as St. Paul worked for a non-district win over San Marcos Hill Country Christian 58-52 on Thursday. Hill Country led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter and St. Paul scored nine of 14 points in the second box for 20-19 lead.
St. Paul scored 22 of 40 points in the third box and held a narrow 16-15 run in the fourth quarter.
