According to a Time Magazine report, Super Bowl ticket prices have surged by 38% compared to last year. The lowest available ticket, known as the get-in price, is currently priced at $6,640 on SeatGeek's website last Tuesday.
However, the average resale ticket price for this highly anticipated sporting event in America is an astonishing five-figure amount, totaling $12,240. It is important to note that prices may slightly vary depending on the platform of purchase.
As of Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 30), the lowest ticket price on Ticketmaster was $7,199 (excluding fees and tax) for nosebleed seats in Section 443, specifically Row 5, which is only five rows away from the last row. On Ticketmaster, ticket prices reached as high as $50,000. Meanwhile, the most expensive ticket, located 24 rows from the field in Section 112, is currently priced above $62,000 on Seat Geek.
What about Taylor Swift and her impact on Super Bowl ticket sales? The numbers do not lie, Swift has been generating revenue for both the league and Kansas City since she attended her first Chiefs game in September to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play football for the Chiefs. The question remains: how much? According to Apex Marketing Group, the Swift-Kelce partnership has a significant brand value of $330 million in terms of digital content and online news. Additionally, Front Office Sports reports that Swift has contributed to a 9% increase in female viewership of the NFL from one season to another.
