Moulton Katz and Kittens Award of Excellence

Submitted by Angela Zumwalt

Victoria Ortiz announced that our deserving counselor, Laura Kusak, was to receive the Katz and Kittens Award of Excellence from the elementary campus. Many words of praise were shared, including that Mrs. Ortiz longed to have Mrs. Kusak as a teacher while in elementary school, but when she arrived at the grade level, Mrs. Kusak had moved! Mrs. Kusak is invaluable to our staff and students.

The elementary student to receive the award this month was Kylar Mikulencak. Mrs. Ortiz described her as an ever-happy child who shares her happiness with all around her. Congratulations to Kylar!

Penny Irwin presented the Katz and Kittens Award to Nadia Ibarra. Ms. Irwin talked about how for many years we haven't had an interpreter on campus, and Nadia has filled the role to welcome bilingual students and their parents! She emotionally interpreted Ms. Irwin's words about her in Spanish so everyone could cherish the moment with her. We are so proud!

The Katz and Kittens Award of Excellence for Educators went to John Meisetschleaer. Ms. Irwin talked about his talent as a coach, and how he randomly provides breakfast for his high school team just because he cares. Congratulations, Coach Mosh!
