Lavaca County Crime Stoppers seek hay bale burning information

Lavaca Crime Stoppers is seeking information regarding three different criminal activities that involved the burning of hay bales over the last few weeks.

According to a Lavaca Crime Stoppers Facebook post the incidences include:

• The first incident took place on Feb. 21 at about 3:15 p.m. when the Hallettsville VFD was sent to a call in reference to some round hay bales on fire on CR 201, just off Highway 90-A East.

• The second incident took place the next day, Thursday, Feb. 22 at about 7:18 a.m. The Hallettsville VFD was once again called to the same location on CR 201 where they found eight bales that appeared to be intentionally set on fire.

• The third incident occurred on Sunday, March 3. Around 3:44 p.m., HVFD received a call that some hay bales were on fire on CR 387. The HVFD was sent to the 3200 block of CR 387 and found 12 round bales that were burned and appeared to be intentionally set.

The Lavaca Crime Stoppers ask that if anyone has information about these fires to please call them at 361-401-1930. The information you give will be kept confidential and a cash reward is available.
