St. Paul baseball: Cards go 2-0 against BBC, Pettus

    Last week, the Cardinals baseball team won a district game at Bulverde Bracken and won at Pettus.

    The hits were plentiful in the 6-4 win at Bracken Christian
    St. Paul got 15 hits, led by Brody Biehunko who had three hits, double, RBI and Nate Boedeker who was 3-for-3, run, RBI.
    Carter Novak got two hits, both doubles, and plated two runs; Joe Peters was 2-for-4 with triple, run, RBI.
    St. Paul led 1-0 after two innings and 2-0 after three-and-half boxes.
    Bracken scored four in the bottom of the fourth before St. Paul scored three in the fifth and one in the sixth.
    Zeke Rodriguez pitched the first 3 1/3 innings with four runs on two hits, three walks and two strikeouts; Jack Leonard worked 3 2/3 innings with one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
    Boedeker had eight putouts in the field.

    Peters (3-4, two runs, double, four RBI) and Evan Rother (3-4, run, two RBI, double) stole the show as St. Paul shelled Pettus 14-3 on Friday.
    St. Paul led 2-0 after the opening inning and 5-0 after two frames before outscoring Pettus 6-3 in the third and 3-0 in the fifth.
    Novak started on the mound, went two innings with four walks; Charlie Pilat ceded three runs on three hits and a walk.
    Humes worked three innings, two walks and five strikeouts.
    Boedeker again paced the defender with four putots and one assist.
