Board approves projects, drop off for students may change

The Hallettsville ISD board of trustees held a budget workshop prior to its meeting Monday evening.

The district is waiting on certified values before the budget is finalized.

Superintendent Dr. Bludau said she will contact the City of Hallettsville to get a time line on the city’s project on N. Ridge St. “We may have to change the drop off line for students,” she said.

The board approved a change order for Phase 2 of the parking lot project.

Calvos’s Janitorial, Inc. was hired to strip the floors at the elementary school at a cost of $28,495.

The board tabled the rental cost of Brahma Memorial Stadium.

Jr. high teacher Cassie Franta gave a recap of the Camp Intervention Program held in the summer. She introduced the other teachers involved, leaders in training and leader interns.

This is the third year Franta has headed the program. Hill Country Dairy was awarded the milk bid for the upcoming school year and cafeteria meal prices will remain the same.

The appraisal calendar for teachers which will run from Sept. 5 until May 1 was approved.

A purchase order of $26,525.55 was okayed for Garage Transformers.

Finance report:

• The district has amassed 97.3% of the 2023 taxes.

• State revenue collected was at 83.01%.

• The General Operating & Maintenance account balance was $782,500.35.

• Local revenue $7.85 million, 94,21% of the budget.

• The district has expended 94.21% of the 2023-24 budget.
