St. Paul baseball: Ulcak plays in seven games for Jags in ‘25

    St. Paul 2023 graduate and University of Houston-Victoria redshirt freshman Jackson Ulcak took part in over six games for the Cougars during the 2025 season.
    In the third game of three-game series at home to open the season against Wiley (Texas), Ulcak was 0-for-1 at the plate, one flyout and one plate appearance for his first action of the season in a 14-5 win for UHV.
    In the second game of a home doubleheader against Midland Feb. 8 in a 16-2 Jaguar  victory, he went 0-for-1, one flyout, one hit into a double play and one plate appearance. In the field, he made two putouts on two chances for 1.000 fielding
    The next day, he played in the opener of a doubleheader at Texas Wesleyan, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout, run scored, one groundout and two plate appearances as UHV won 18-4.
    Ulcak played in the opening game of a three-game series Feb. 22 at Texas College, going 0-for-2 at the plate with a strikeout, one flyout and two plate appearances. On defense, he had three chances and made three putouts for 1.000 fielding, two stolen bases allowed and three passed balls in a 17-5 UHV win.
    His next game was the finale of a three-game series at home series March 1 against Xavier (Louisiana). At the plate, Ulcak scored one run, had one RBI, was hit by the pitch twice and had two plate appearances. 
    Behind the plate, he had two putouts on two chances, 1.000 fielding and two stolen bases allowed in a 24-2 UHV rout.
    March 6 in the opening game of a three-game series at Jarvis Christian, Ulcak was 0-for-1 on one plate appearance as the Jags took a 15-0 win.
    His final action of the season was April 5 in the opener of a three-game series at home to Our Lady of the Lake with UHV taking a 14-1 win. 
    He was 0-for-1 at the plate,  one groundout and one plate appearance.
    Ulcak played in seven total games and totals at the plate were 10 plate appearances, eight at-bats, two runs, one RBI, two hit by pitch, two strikeouts and one hit into a double play, batting average of .000, slugging percentage .000 and on-base percentage of .200
    In the field, he had seven total chances, with seven putouts, 1.00 fielding, four stolen bases allowed and three passed balls.
    The Jags went 7-0 in the games Ulcak played in and were 38-17 overall, 22-8 in conference play, 26-4 at home, 9-9 on the road and 3-4 at neutral sites.
