LMC has new 3D breast cancer mammography test

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just in time for that month, The Lavaca Medical Center (LMC) has a new 3D mammogram that patients can use.

LMC started offering this service this past March. The way a 3D mammogram works is that the X-ray arm moves in an arc over the breast, taking many low-dose X-rays from different angles, after the machine has taken the pictures.
