DeWitt Commissioners vote to abandon portion of Stanchos Road

The DeWitt County Commissioners Court voted on formally abandoning a portion of Stanchos Road in Precinct 3 near the community of Gruenau at the Feb. 9 meeting.Although the road appears on mapping services to extend northeast and connect with Simicek Road, County Judge Daryl Fowler said that a portion of Stanchos Road was never maintained by the county and is in fact a dead end.The county holds…
