Local youth sports: Yoakum Golf Association camp, tournament set for June 24-26

The Yoakum Golf Association will be sponsoring a junior golf camp June 24-25 at the Yoakum Municipal Golf Course. 
The camp will consist of two sessions: one for beginners (those just starting out or learning the game) and one for intermediates (those who have a grasp of the fundamentals of the game). Nicco Brown will once again be teaching the camp. 
The beginners’ session will run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. while the intermediate session will run from 10 to 11:30. 
Cost of the camp is $20 and includes a junior golf tournament on Friday, June 26th. You can register by calling the golf course at 361-293-5682 or you may also register on the first day of the camp. Spots are limited, so be sure to sign-up early. The annual Yoakum Golf Association’s junior golf tournament will be held June 26 at the Yoakum Municipal Golf Course.Entry fee for the tournament is $5 and is open to those golfers ages 6 to 18. The tournament begins at 8 for those 12 years old and under.  The 13-14 and 15-18 year olds will tee off at 10.
