St. Mary’s Catholic Church Picnic Sunday
The annual St. Mary’s Catholic Church Picnic is set for Sunday with a Mass offered at 9:30 a.m. to start off the day.
Following the Mass, the traditional picnic meal that includes stew, sausage, German potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, pickles, bread and dessert will be served starting at 10:30 a.m until 1 p.m.
The cost per plate is $14 and is available through dining in or platesto-go.
At 11 a.m. musical entertainment will begin with the Texas Sound Check and the Red Ravens kicking things off. They will be followed at 2:30 p.m by The Red Ravens and Southpaw and Dawson DeBord will close out the evening starting at 6 p.m.
The Big Country Auction will start at 1 p.m. with livestock, quilts, trees, plants, art antiques, home decor and many more items for sale.
A Country Store will be also be open beginning at 10:30 a.m. with baked goods and plants for sale.
Also an assortment of foods including ice cream, nachos, popcorn, sno-cones and ice cold drinks will be available throughout the day.
The St. Mary’s famous picnic burgers as well as hot dogs and sausage wraps will be served during the afternoon and evening.
Inside the air-conditioned hall, bingo will be played from 2 to 6 p.m. and on the outside kid games including a fish pond, ball throw, ring toss sand box and more activities offered for enjoyment.
The picnic grounds is located at 1648 FM 340, Hallettsville.
The public is invited to come out and enjoy a day and evening that is fun for the whole family.
