Kermit Lee Price

“LET THE WORK I’VE DONE SPEAK FOR ME”
Deacon Kermit Lee Price was born on June 30, 1939, in Shiner, to Mable Tisdon and Willie Elroy Price. Kermit was also affectionately known as John, KP, Dec., and Bro.
Kermit lived a good life and departed it into his eternal rest in Glory on June 21, 2026. 
Kermit was a graduate of F.W. Gross High School in Victoria, Class of 1957. Kermit loved to attend his school reunions and would bring anyone who wanted to come. Kermit was also known to be a sharp dresser.
His first union to Ora Lee Martin blessed him with five sons, Kermit, Preston, Clifton, Steven and Gilbert. Kermit and Ruby Rosemond were blessed with one daughter, Tonya Brown. He was also blessed with a daughter, Cyrese Russell.
Kermit later married Ella Mae Jolivette on December 22, 1990 at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.  They were empowered with 35 years of marital bliss. He was blessed to add three step-daughters to his life, Lenora Jolivette-Hunter, Mary Chevis and Lisa Harris.
Kermit was a loyal and devoted Deacon, President of the Ushers and Nurses Board and a member of the Male Chorus, Committee, Fellowship Hall and Rental Coordinator, Building and Grounds Coordinator and the Ark of Love District Association. 
Kermit with his anointed voice, he was often heard singing and leading devotion... Love the Lord He Heard My Cry, Talking about a child that do love Jesus, Here is One, Somebody Knocking on my Door, Two Wings and many more.
Kermit was employed with Gulf & Basco for many years until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beautiful wife, Ella Mae Price; four sons, Preston Price (LaShenna) Clifton Price, Steven Price (Sonja) and Gilbert Price (Michelle); two daughters, Cyrese Russell and Tonya Brown; three stepdaughters, Lenora Jolivette-Hunter (Ray), Mary Chevis (Rodney) and Lisa Harris (Jason); aunt, Alice Evans; one brother, MacArthur Price (Virginia); six sisters, Bobbie Joe Bosier (Conrad), Josie Mae Bryant, Jannie Mae Carter (John Allen), Helen Mason (Lloyd), Ruby Lyles and Edna Fay Coverson (Ross) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Elroy Price and Mable Tisdon Brown; stepmother, Myrtle Price; son, Kermit Leon Price; brother, Floyd Price; and sister, Roysteen Washington.
Services were held on Saturday, June 27 at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial following at Bluebonnet Hill Cemetery in Shiner.
