Court enacts burn ban at Monday’s meeting

Due to the county’s Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) reading averaging above 500, the court approved the implementation of a burn ban at the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court Monday morning meeting.

Court selects committee to search for Veterans Service officer

Due to the threat of Hurricane Beryl, the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court moved its regular meeting to Wednesday, July 10.At the meeting, the court discussed the county’s attempt to find a Veterans Service officer and decided to select a committee to perform the search.

Court approves county road plan

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Wednesday morning, May 29 and approved a county road plan that includes future paving of roads.

Court declares May 19-25 as Emergency Medical Services Week

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Monday morning and declared the week of May 19 through 25 as Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Week.
A large group of members belonging to various organizations and agencies who assist in helping children and families of child abuse were present at Monday’s Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court meeting. During the meeting the court designated April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. According to the proclamation read by County Judge Keith Mudd at the meeting, approximately 270,000 children in Texas, and 162 Lavaca County children were reported as victims of child abuse in 2023. Court designates April as Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in its regular meeting Monday and designated April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Court acknowledges primary election results

After hearing a report from Lavaca County interim election administrator Tenia Hudson at its Monday morning meeting, the Commissioners’ Court acknowledged the results of the primary election held on March 5.
