The Lady Cardinals softball team beat Austin Brentwood Christian 10-5 and 11-0 Thursday in a home doubleheader.St. Paul 10, Brentwood Christian 5 (Game 1)Brooke Cerny hit 3-for-4 with one home run, double, five RBI and scored twice as St. Paul won the opener 10-5.

Shiner track and field: Shiner girls place first at area track meet

The Shiner Lady Comanches won the 27/28-2A area meet Thursday in Thrall while the boys took fifth.A total of 15 athletes will compete in the Region IV-2A meet in Kingsville this weekend.GirlsThe Lady Comanches took first place with 117 points to second-place Thrall’s 117100 — 2nd, JaLeah Curtis, 12.

St. Paul track and field: St. Paul track teams capture district title

The St. Paul track and field teams dominated the field at the TAPPS 2A-3 district meet April 9 in Hallettsville. Top four in each event advance to the regional meet April 26 in Seguin.GirlsThe Lady Cardinals ran away with the meet with 255 points while runner-up Sacred Heart posted 108 points.

St. Paul softball: Lady Cardinals go down agains SH after late surge

The fifth and sixth innings against Sacred Heart, the St. Paul softball team probably will not keep in their memory banks for too long.The Indianettes rallied from 8-6 down with 17 runs on 11 hits to defeat the Lady Cardinals 23-8 in six innings Thursday evening at the Shiner Starplex.

Last week, the Cardinals baseball team won a district game at Bulverde Bracken and won at Pettus.SP 6, BB Christian 4The hits were plentiful in the 6-4 win at Bracken ChristianSt. Paul got 15 hits, led by Brody Biehunko who had three hits, double, RBI and Nate Boedeker who was 3-for-3, run, RBI.

The St. Paul girls golf team won the district championship and the boys team placed fourth to qualify for state April 2 at the The Golf Club of Texas A&M.On the girls team, Faith Brown was fifth medalist with a 100.

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals golf team placed first at the Yoakum Golf Tournament March 27.The A team scored 410 points to win the tournament.Riley Mozisek carded a 97 for second medalist and Audrey Thibodeaux scored 99 for fourth medalist.

St. Paul baseball: Indians escape from Starplex with 10-8 win

It was a game of give and take for both sides in the St. Paul versus Sacred Heart game March 27 at Shiner Starplex.It was St. Paul who gave more than they took and Sacred Heart who took more than they gave in a 10-8 win for the Indians.
