The faithful of the Diocese of Victoria, including Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville, were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Emeritus Bishop David Fellhauer last week.
Pope Leo XIV appears on the balcony above Saint Peter’s Basilica Square when he was first introduced as the newly elected Pope. Millions watched this event on television and thousands attended in person on the evening he was elected, including Wayne and Lee Ann Freytag. The leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, passed away this past Monday after battling health issues that led to him having a stroke and heart failure.Pope Francis was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on Dec. 17, 1936 and was elected the 266th pope on March 13, 2013.
