Four people took home the prize of the Youth, Senior and Out-of-State Divisions at the 55th Annual Fiddlers Frolic which occurred the last weekend of April.Freshman and Junior DivisionKids from as young as 5 years old to 15 years old competed in the Freshman and Junior Texas Division.

Westmoreland fiddles his way to 11th championship

It was time to resin up the bow and get to fiddle playing as 18 Texas contestants competed against each other at the Texas Championship competition on the 55th annual Fiddlers Frolic at the Hallettsville KC Hall this past Sunday.

The Texas State Championship Fiddlers’ Frolics is on tap for next weekend with fiddlers from throughout Texas as well as out of state competing to see who is the top fiddle player.

A talented group of 20 fiddlers from across the country showcased their skills in the Gone to Texas segment of the 54th Annual Fiddler’s Frolics, held this past Saturday on April 26 at the Hallettsville KC Hall.

Moulton’s fiddling phenom Daniel Jasek, or as he dubbed him Sunday, “the Energizer Bunny of fiddlers, for his propensity to keep coming back year after year and, even at the age of 92, still outplay most who ever even bothered picking up a bow.

Fiddlers Frolics names ‘new’ Texas State Fiddle Champion

The third time wasn’t a charm for the defending state fiddling champion Carl Hopkins of Porter, who came to Hallettsville last week looking for the three-peat, having won that coveted No. 1 position the last two consecutive years running.
