More than 150 aspiring singer-songwriters from across the nation signed for the 15th annual Songwriters Serenade in 2022, with contest organizers narrowing the picks down to just the Top 15 when they met at the St. John Pavilion Saturday, May 7, to compete for $10,000 in prizes given to the top winners of each year's show, performing their very best song before a live audience.
When the dust all settled, it was Nashville's Sav Buist who walked away with bragging rights, a recording contract and the lion's share of the $10,000 cash awarded. Here, she shares a bit about where her song originated and then gives an award-winning performance of it, live Saturday at beautiful St. John.
