Hostyn Catholic church leveled by gas explosion early Thursday

The community of Hostyn overlooks the Colorado River Valley from where it sits high on a hill, hence its old name of Bluff for more than a century, back when it was first settled back in 1820.
Like many such places, its heyday came decades ago, back before the second world war.

YISD preliminary test results indicate ‘excellent scores’

Preliminary 2022 STAAR and EOC results indicate that Yoakum ISD students improved on their overall passing rate from last year, continuing the trend of annual performance improvements.
