Moulton Council Explores High-Water Alert System, Cancels May Election

The Moulton City Council held a brief discussion about the possibility of a high-water alert device for the City of Moulton at the March 10 meeting.“The council has been interested in that ever since last summer with the disaster in Kerrville,” City Administrator LuAnn Rogers said.

The new and upcoming Moulton Police Department building is coming along well and is now shovel ready.New drawings are in and the new MPD will be located between the new fire department and Leroy’s Plumbing. The front entrance will be facing Main Street.

Six Trucks, 20 Personnel Respond to Sunday Evening Fire Near Moulton

The Moulton Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire that occurred this past Sunday at a little past 7 p.m.The fire occurred on SH 95 South of Moulton. There were six trucks and 20 men from the Moulton Fire Department and the Lavaca County EMS who arrived on scene.

Sweet Home ISD makes strides in recent bond project

March short on rain

March followed the first two months of the year by producing little rain and adding to the growing rainfall deficit.Only 1.01 of an inch fell bringing this year’s total to 4.38 inches. Hallettsville is now 3.49 inches below the 30 year average of 7.87 inches.
