Coaches with Lavaca County ties inducted into Hall of Honor

The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) is holding its annual summer convention this week in Houston and to kickoff the event, the organization held its Hall of Honor banquet Saturday recognizing seven coaches for their distinguished careers in coaching.

MISD Handbooks Ready

The Moulton Independent School District student and employee handbook are now ready to view. The board discussed this at the July 8 meeting.One significant revision in the student handbook involves early graduation and participation in senior activities.

Yoakum ISD recognizes FFA state students at July School Board meeting

A proclamation was made and ag students were recognized at the Yoakum Independent School District board meeting July 13.The students recognized for this proclamation was the Future Farmers of America Agriculture Clay Shooting Event for the State Level Participation.

DeWitt Commissioners approve road closures at July 13 meeting

The DeWitt County Commissioners Court approved a couple of road closures at the July 13 meeting.The first road closure is a temporary closure on Ed Blackwell Rd. This is located just a little south from Yoakum and north of Cuero and will be closed for construction.

Hallettsville Man Killed in 4-Vehicle Crash

A four-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90A in Gonzales County caused a 70-year-old Hallettsville man to be killed Saturday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).David Anthony Tobola was driving a 2014 Ford F-250 towing a 2002 Heil trailer eastbound on Highway 90A.

HISD board approves stadium rentals

The Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a regular meeting Monday and approved playoff stadium rental agreements for the football, baseball, softball and gymnasium facilities.
