St. Paul baseball: Ulcak contributes in nine games for Jags baseball

    St. Paul graduate and University of Houston-Victoria sophomore Jackson Ulcak saw action at catcher in nine games for the Jaguar baseball team.
    His first action came in the Feb. 14 first game of a three-game series against Huston-Tillotson. He had one at bat in the 5-4 UHV win.
    In the Feb. 27 second game of a doubleheader and the second game of a three-game series at home to Louisiana Christian,  Ulcak had one at bat was 1-for-1, one RBI, one total base, 1.000 batting average, 1.000 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging as the Jaguars won 11-1.
    UHV defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana 9-4 on the road March 6 in the second game of a three-game series and the first game of a doubleheader as Ulcak had one at bat.
    Later that day, in the final game of the doubleheader and the series, he had one strikeout on one at bat as UHV won 9-4.
    On March 13, UHV defeated Jarvis Christian 17-4 in the opener of a three-game series with Ulcak going 1-for-1, one at bat one total base and one RBI, and in the field  he made three putouts on three chances for 1.000 fielding percentage.
    The next day, in the second game of the series and first game of a doubleheader, Ulcak had one putout on one chance in the field with a 1.000 fielding and had one at bat as the Jaguars won 9-0.
    He played in the series closer and the second game of the doubleheader with one RBI and one at bat in a 17-4 UHV victory.
    On April 10, in the opener of a three-game series and first game of a doubleheader against Texas College, Ulcak had one chance, made one putout for 1.000 fielding in a 10-2 UHV win.
    His final game of the season came in the third game of the series against Texas College on April 11 where he had one at bat and had one chance with one putout in the field for 1.000 fielding.
    Ulcak’s hitting totals for the season were seven at-bats, seven plate appearances, two hits,  three RBI, one strikeout, three ground outs, one flyout, groundout/flyout of 3.00, .286 batting average, .286 on base and .286 slugging.
    In the field, Ulcak had six total chances with six putouts and 1.00 fielding.
    UHV posted a 9-0 record in the games Ulcak played in.
