Patricia “Pat’ Yeschke

Patricia (Pat) Yeschke passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov.  28, 2023,  surrounded by family and close friends.  Pat Yeschke was born on Oct. 28, 1947 in Yoakum.  Pat lived in Gonzales, and worked for the City of Gonzales as dispatcher for many years.

John “Johnny” David Phillips Sr.

John “Johnny” David Phillips Sr., 81, of Shiner, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1942 in Texas City, to David and Gloria Kilsby Phillips. He was a elevator mechanic. He enjoyed sitting by the campfire, hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Laddie J. Janik

Laddie J. Janik, 87, of Shiner, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. Visitation began at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3 with rosary recited at 4 p.m. at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 4 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev.

Owen Smith

Owen Smith, 93, of Shiner, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 24 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, with Mark Smith officiating. Interment was held at Yoakum Restland Mausoleum under the direction of Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.

Vaclav “Jim” Joseph Jasek

Vaclav “Jim” Joseph Jasek, a resident in the Novohrad community located east of Moulton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the age of 89.   Jim graduated from Moulton High School in the class of 1951.  He was an army veteran.

Gloria Lynn Lofton

Gloria Lynn Lofton, 73, passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 in Abilene. She was born on July 2, 1950 in Seminole, Texas to Donald and Martha (Savage) Nugent. Gloria married Harold Lofton on June 19, 1993 and they spent 24 wonderful years together until his passing in 2017.

Doris Faye Allee

Doris Faye Allee passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at the age of 86.  She was born on July 17, 1937, in Vienna, Lavaca County, to Daniel and Mary Lucille Kelley.   Doris married J. W. “Dub’ Allee on Aug. 31, 1957, at the First Baptist Church in Hallettsville.

Elson Roy Schreiber Jr.

Elson Roy Schreiber, Jr, 75 of Shiner, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023.   Elson was born in Shiner and attended St. Ludmila’s Academy and St. Paul High School. Elson always made Shiner his home with the exception of the years he spent away in the Army.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ J. Dornak

Thomas “Tommy” J. Dornak, 88, of Hallettsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov.15, 2023.  He was born June 23, 1935 in Worthing to Willie and Teresie (Janak) Dornak. Tommy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived his faith in service to others.  On Oct.

Ellorine Emily Knape

Ellorine Emily Knape, 97, of Yoakum, went to meet her Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born Oct. 22, 1926 in Moulton to Gustav Gummelt and Emily Christine (Kaase) Gummelt. Most knew her as “Renie”.
