Agnes Kouba Roznovsky, 86, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022.   She was born in Moulton  on June 13, 1936  to Jim and Bessie Simper Kouba. On July 12, 1954, she married Judge Wilbert “Peanut” Roznovsky Sr. in Moulton.

Michael Edwin Jurena

Michael Edwin Jurena, age 66, passed away Aug. 25. He was born April 7, 1956 in Yoakum to Clement and Frances Vank Jurena. He was a heavy equipment operator and a rancher. He had a great love for his dogs, liked operating heavy equipment, and loved to talk and visit with people.

Rev. Donald Ruppert

Rev. Donald Ruppert, passed into eternal life Aug. 23 at the age of 75. He was born June 1, 1947 in Yoakum to Herbert and Annie (Friedel) Ruppert. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965 and attended Baldwin Business College where he studied business and accounting.

Robert Glenn Cowan Sr.

Robert Glenn Cowan, Sr., 68,  of Gonzales, passed away suddenly August 27, 2022 at home.  Robert was born December 20, 1953 to William Baxter and Juanita Cowan in the Midway community of Lavaca County.

Narda "Sue" Speyrer

Narda Sue Speyrer (“Sue”), 90, was born on Sept. 7, 1931 in Brownfield to J.B. and Ola Mae Warren.  She passed on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 in Shenandoah (The Woodlands).  Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents, and her sister, Joyce Quenell Lindauer.

Mary Carol (Strauss) Kloesel

Mary Carol (Strauss) Kloesel passed away on Tuesday, Aug.  23, 2022. Mary Carol was born to Fred and Julianne (Hrncir) Strauss on Aug. 9, 1940 at Renger Hospital in Hallettsville.

Dorothy May Valentine Lindsay

Dorothy May Valentine Lindsay was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Gonzales.  She was one of five children born to Eddie Tatum Valentine and Pinkney Valentine.   Young Dorothy accepted and confessed to Christ at an early age and was a member of Webster Chapel AME in Gonzales.

 Rose Cyrene (Wick) Janak, 85,  of Hallettsville, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 at Steven’s Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hallettsville.   She was born Aug. 17, 1937 in Lavaca County to Ferdinand and Matilda (Weber) Wick.  On June 22, 1957 she married Victor Janak  at St.

Maurice “Sonny” Anton Tesch

Maurice “Sonny” Anton Tesch of Sublime, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022.   He was born in Hallettsville on June 3, 1943.  He was the fourth child of Walter Paul Sr. and Mary Viola Jahn Tesch. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church in Sublime.

Leroy Joseph Mikeska

Leroy Joseph Mikeska of Goliad passed away unexpectedly, Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 at the age of 71.   Leroy was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend, devout Catholic, and dedicated member of his Goliad community.
