Dorothy Kristynik Olsovsky, 88, of Moravia, departed from this life on Friday, May 27, 2022 peacefully at her home.  She was born on Oct. 13, 1933 in Novohrad.  Dorothy was the third of four children born to Joe A. and Martha Filip Kristynik.

Elizabeth Roznovsky "Liz" Sustr

Elizabeth Roznovsky “Liz” Sustr was born on July 12, 1932 and passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022.  She was 89 years old.  Liz was born in the Witting/St. Mary’s area about 10 miles southeast of Moulton on the Roznovsky homestead, to Ludwig and Johanna Kutach Roznovsky.

Alton James Rau

Alton James Rau beloved husband, son and brother was born Oct. 18, 1934 in Yorktown to  Oscar and Lillie Kelch Rau.   He was baptized Dec. 9, 1934 at the home of William Kelch and confirmed on April 10, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lindenau.

Isidor Louis Jalufka

Isidor Louis Jalufka, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.   He was born in Lavaca County on Nov. 30, 1932, to Isidor J. and Kristina Bujnoch Jalufka.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Pauline Ward

Pauline Ward, 78, formerly of Yoakum, passed away May 22. She was born Dec. 20, 1943 in Yoakum to Leland and Ora (Manning) Tucker.

James Franklin Bucek

James Franklin “Jimmy” Bucek, 91, of Hallettsville, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.   He was born on Sept. 4, 1930 in Hallettsville to Julius and Margaret Bucek.     He spent most of his early life in Hallettsville and then raised his family in Fort Worth.

Ethel Ruth Fabian Tappe

Ethel Ruth Fabian Tappe passed away peacefully the morning of May 10, 2022. She was 91. Ethel Ruth was born Nov.    17, 1930 in Port Lavaca, Calhoun County, Texas, to Joe J. and Cecilia Fabian.  She grew up in Hallettsville, where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.

H. J. ‘Jim’ Tobola

Funeral services for H. J. “Jim” Tobola, 74 of Giddings will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating.  Burial followed in Giddings City Cemetery.  Visitation began at 7 a.m. and continued until 8 p.m.

Virginia Roeder Helweg, 85, of Shiner, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born January 3, 1937, to Oswald and Leona Baca Roeder in High Hill, Texas, she was of German and Czech ancestry and was the second oldest of six children.
