Jimmy Joe Holub, 94, of Moulton, passed away on January 8, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1930, in Moulton, to Joe and Elexia Berckenhoff Holub. He was the third of six children. He married Mary Nell Migl of Shiner on August 9, 1955.  They had two daughters and resided in Moulton.

Roman J. Shimek

Roman John Shimek, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully January 2, 2025, at the age of 93.  He was born on December 27, 1931, in St. John, to Louis and Frances (Kutac) Shimek. He graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1949.

Carol Denise Voelkel, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.Carol was born on January 9, 1967, in Houston, and grew up in nearby Stafford. She graduated high school in 1985. She met her husband-to-be, Ronnie, in her early 20s and married him on April 29, 1989.

Virgie Katherine Barta, 76, of Shiner, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born January 7, 1948 in Gonzales to the late Oscar and Lillie (Hull) Shulak.Virgie graduated from High School and entered the LVN nursing training at Shiner Hospital in 1966.

Cecilie Elizabeth Zissa, 100, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1924 in Shiner, to John V. Orsak and Bertha Eicher Orsak. She married Lebert Zissa on November 22, 1950, in Yoakum. Cecilie was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Zoey Christina Donna Sturm

Zoey Christina Donna Sturm, age 18, passed away on Wednesday, Nov.  20, 2024, after an unexpected accident.  She was born on Nov. 2, 2006 in Houston.Zoey was looking forward to graduating from Moulton High School in the spring and was planning on majoring in Architecture in college at Texas State.

Wilbur Lodewick Cleveland, 79, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov.  29, 2024, at 6 p.m.  He was born Nov. 6, 1945 in Ganado, the youngest child of Wilber and Pauline (nee Stover).
