Cecilie Elizabeth Zissa, 100, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1924 in Shiner, to John V. Orsak and Bertha Eicher Orsak. She married Lebert Zissa on November 22, 1950, in Yoakum. Cecilie was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Zoey Christina Donna Sturm

Zoey Christina Donna Sturm, age 18, passed away on Wednesday, Nov.  20, 2024, after an unexpected accident.  She was born on Nov. 2, 2006 in Houston.Zoey was looking forward to graduating from Moulton High School in the spring and was planning on majoring in Architecture in college at Texas State.

Wilbur Lodewick Cleveland, 79, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov.  29, 2024, at 6 p.m.  He was born Nov. 6, 1945 in Ganado, the youngest child of Wilber and Pauline (nee Stover).

Mary Katheryn Stauffer, 88, of Rockport, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She was born April 30, 1936 in Shiner, to Charles and Mary Stary Jiral.  She married Kurt Werner Stauffer in San Antonio in 1980.

Adele C. Jiral, PhD

Adele C. Bleier Jiral, PhD., 91, of Huntsville (Lakeside Village), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in Trinity, Texas, at a date yet to be determined.

Billy Ray Brueggman

Billy Ray Brueggman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his home in Bastrop on Friday, Nov.  22, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 7, 1931, in Moulton to Rudolph “Rudie” Brueggman and Hattie Kretchmer Brueggman-Bartels.

Elroy Alfred Tesch Sr.

Through God's grace and mercy, Elroy Alfred Tesch Sr., passed to his final rest quietly on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024.  He was born in Lavaca County Dec. 23, 1922, to Alfred Sr. and Lilie Rother Tesch and was the oldest of eight.

Bobbie Jean (Holle) Hobbs, 86, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at the Stone Creek Memory Care Facility in Houston.  She was born at her home in Washington, Texas on May 20, 1938, to her parents Charlie and Nelda (Krueger) Holle.

Geraldine Marie Gerlich Taylor

Geraldine Marie Gerlich Taylor, 96, of Hallettsville, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.She was born to William and Justina Orsak Gerlich on Feb. 12,1928, in Hallettsville.In her youth, Geraldine enjoyed riding horses and playing the trumpet.On Nov. 16, 1946 she married Waymon Joel Taylor Sr.

Nettie Rice Foley

Nettie Rice Foley was born on March 1, 1948, to WD and Lillie Prince Rice.Nettie continued her education at Huth Memorial Nursing school where she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Nettie was an exceptional nurse, who many credit to saving their lives.
